Things to Do

Fishing

Cast a line and try your luck fishing off the beach or jetty. Schools of mullet come in to Marion Bay late summer/autumn. The jetty is great for squid.

Surfing

The southern coastline has so many pristine beaches to choose from and the area boasts some of South Australia’s best surfing spots.

Swimming

Penguin Point, directly in front of Marion Bay Lodge, is perfect for children. Other safe swimming options include Dolphin Bay, Shell Beach, Pondalowie Fisherman Village. Our beaches don’t have surf life saving patrols, so please be careful.

Beach combing

Take a leisurely walk along the beach to the jetty and beyond from the ‘Lodge’ or head in the opposite direction along Willyama Beach towards Rhino’s Head.

Paddleboarding

On those really calm, windless days take the paddle board out.

Hiking

There are excellent walking trails throughout Dhilba Guuranda - Innes National Park offering some of the best coastal views in the state and the opportunity to observe native plants and animals.
